1. About us
USA Turk Support (“we”, “us”) operates usa-turk-support.com, a community action platform. Visitors can read a campaign, review a pre-written message and, if they choose, send it to elected officials from their own Gmail or Outlook account.
USA Turk Support is independent. It is not affiliated with Google, Microsoft, the United States Senate or House of Representatives, any government agency, or any elected official.
2. Information we collect
a) When you send a campaign message
- Your email address from the Google or Microsoft account you connect, and for Microsoft accounts your display name.
- The name you type as your signature and, if you add them, your city and state, which appear below your name in the email. City and state are not stored in our database.
- A send record for each recipient: campaign, recipient address, subject, the message ID returned by Gmail or Outlook, send status, error code (if any), date and time, your IP address, and your browser’s user-agent string.
b) If you create an optional member account
- Full name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country (USA) and, optionally, state and city.
- Your password, stored only as a secure one-way hash.
- Email-verification status and your campaign participation history.
Membership is optional. You can send campaign messages without creating an account.
c) Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) process standard request data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site.
3. Google user data
If you choose Send with Gmail, Google asks you to grant these permissions:
| Permission (scope) | Why we need it |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email | To show you which account is connected, to sign the message with the correct sender address, and to prevent the same account from sending the same campaign twice. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send | To send the single campaign message you reviewed and confirmed, from your Gmail account. |
How we use it. The access token Google gives us is kept only in your server session and is used only to send the message you confirmed. It is discarded when you press Switch, when you close the session, or when the session expires. We never receive your Google password.
Limited Use. USA Turk Support’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we:
- use Google user data only to provide the user-facing email-sending feature described above;
- do not transfer Google user data to others, except as necessary to provide that feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with your notice;
- do not use or transfer Google user data for advertising, including retargeting or interest-based advertising;
- do not sell Google user data, and do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
- do not allow humans to read Google user data, except with your affirmative consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or when the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations; and
- do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
4. Microsoft (Outlook) user data
If you choose Send with Outlook, Microsoft asks you to grant openid, email, User.Read (to read your name and email address) and Mail.Send (to send the message you confirmed). We do not request permission to read your mailbox. Microsoft tokens are handled in the same way as Google tokens: kept only in your session, used only to send the confirmed message, and never stored in our database.
5. How we use information
- To send the campaign message you confirm, from your own account.
- To show public, anonymous participation totals (for example, “214 participants”) and campaign results.
- To prevent duplicate or abusive sending and to troubleshoot failed sends.
- If you are a member: to manage your account, show your personal statistics, and, if you agree, tell you about new campaigns.
We never publish the names or email addresses of individual participants.
6. How information is shared
- With the recipients you write to. As with any email, the elected officials you contact will see your name, your email address and the message.
- With service providers that host or protect the site (our web hosting provider and Cloudflare), only as needed to run the service.
- With Google or Microsoft, which process the sign-in and deliver the message under their own privacy policies.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the platform.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising.
7. Data retention
- Access tokens: only for the duration of your session (at most about 20 minutes of inactivity); never written to our database.
- Send records: while the campaign is listed on the site and for up to 24 months after it closes, then deleted or anonymized.
- Member accounts: until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Connecting an account and sending a message are always optional.
- You can remove our access at any time: Google Account → Third-party connections or Microsoft account → App permissions.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
- Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws have the right to know, correct and delete personal information. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those laws define the terms.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use a single session cookie, which is required to keep you signed in during sending and to protect forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store small preferences (such as hiding the “Add to Home Screen” tip), and our app may cache the site’s style and script files on your device so it loads faster.
10. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access tokens are not stored in our database, database queries are parameterized, forms are protected against cross-site request forgery, and administrative access is restricted. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use Google or Microsoft user data, we will ask for your consent before using your data in the new way.
